Dr Maria Eleonora Hebisz na Międzynarodowej Konferencji w Pakistanie

Dr Maria Eleonora Hebisz, from the Department of Latin American and Comparative Studies at the faculty of International and Political Studies, University of Lodz, was invited by Prof. Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Central Punjab, Lahore, to participate in the International Conference on Contemporary Challenges for Democracy, which was held on 23-24 April 2025 at the aforementioned university in Pakistan.

At the invitation of Dr Hebisz, mgr Anna Sumowska from the University of Security in Poznań also attended the conference.

During the deliberation, Dr Hebisz delivered a paper entitled "Education and Democracy. Examples from Field Research among Indigenous Communities in the Andean Region of Peru", presenting the results of her own field research in a panel devoted to the topic of ethnic groups and democracy (Ethnic Groups and Democracy).

The conference, organised by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Central Punjab in Lahore, brought together an international group of researchers dealing with the challenges facing democracy in the contemporary world – both locally and globally.
